Denver, Colorado – CopyPaste is the original multiple clip utility for the Mac. CopyPaste has been massively popular since its first release. What has made it so widely appreciated? Usefulness. CopyPaste magnifies and multiplies the usefulness of the humble clipboard and it does it invisibly in the background.

One of the revolutionary features that came with the Mac in 1984 was the unique ability to select text or pictures, etc, then copy that data into a clipboard, to hold that content temporarily and then paste it in the same application or a different one. The clipboard was used to transfer all kinds of info between programs on the Mac, and later this feature was imitated in many other operating systems.

A few years later CopyPaste was the first to add multiple clipboards. This meant that more data could be moved in less time. CopyPaste also allowed these multiple clipboards to be displayed, edited, archived and saved through restarts. CopyPaste revealed the untapped potential of the Mac clipboard.

The latest incarnation of CopyPaste has those same underlying abilities, but with this latest version two new instantly available windows (the Clip Browser similar to the Apple application switcher, and the Clip Palette as a compact vertical list ) that let you navigate through the Clip History and Clip Archive with speed and ease. A clip editor called Bean (really a lightweight word processor) is now part of the CopyPaste Pro ecology. Bean allows you to edit clipboards. CopyPaste Pro is all together simple and extremely powerful.

CopyPaste Pro Features:
* Multiple clipboards available by hotkey, menu, contextual menu and clip browser
* Save all clipboards thru restarts. Never lose an edit again. This alone is a savior
* Clip History maintains a stack of cuts or copies and even drags
* Clip Editor (Bean) allows immediate editing of any clip and also is an excellent word processor
* Clip Archives to keep available info you use repeatedly
* The new ‘Clip Browser’ to manage, view and edit your clips as comfortably as you manage your programs in Apples Dock or Apples Application Switcher
* The ‘Clip Palettes’, a compact vertical list to view, organize, edit and access clips
* Drag images from Safari directly into the clip history
* Clip Tools to act on clipboard data in dozens of useful ways that save time like: – Email extractor which grabs email addresses from large amounts of text – Url extractor grabs url’s from large chunks of text and many others
* Drag and drop any clip in the clip browser and to/from applications
* Contextual menus to give easy access to the clipboards from anywhere
* With the clip editor open text, DOC, RTF, HTML, Apple Archive and many other file types
* Easy ways to organize and make available all the clipboard data for reuse
* Many more features built in and more coming

CopyPaste has been available for over 10 years. Users of those earlier version (CopyPaste +yType, CopyPaste-X, CopyPaste Classic) may be interested in the changes from those earlier versions.

System Requirements:
* Universal Binary. Native on Intel and PowerPC, perfect for Mac OS Tiger (10.4), Leopard (10.5) and beyond
* Much faster; especially on Intel Macs and in Leopard
* Rewritten in Cocoa and Objective C, to access the latest Mac OS X features for fast and rock-solid development and upgrades
* The clip editor (called Bean) is now a powerful word processor
* We listened to users and implemented the most requested features
* New interface elements for easier customizable access to the multiple clipboards

It costs nothing to try it out and CopyPaste Pro will immediately prove itself by saving you time and energy.

User Raves

Ain’t a Mac without it!
Michael Jay Warren

Absolutely essential. I can’t count the number of times a day I use Copypaste. You all do know that Microsoft and probably Apple will now copy and paste this idea into their OS’s and not pay you, right? Hasn’t this happened to you all a couple times before?
James Fitz

Thanks again for a great and indispensable piece of software! I think it is FANTASTIC!
Dan Sanfilippo

Can’t live without it!!! Great product! It’s indespensible and thank you for developing it!
Roger Euchler

I loved the old version of CP, but I have to admit, the new version is far better. Never thought I’d say that! Thanks for all your hard work. At first, I was worried about having any changes made to CopyPaste. Now I’m happy with what you’ve done and I wouldn’t want to go back!
Joe Olivas

CopyPaste Pro: once you try it, you wonder how could you live without it!

Toronto (ON), Canada – Zevrix Solutions announces the release of InPreflight 2.6.7, a maintenance update to its quality control, packaging automation and file info reporting solution for Adobe InDesign. InPreflight quickly gathers extensive information about document fonts, colors and links and lets users instantly locate potential problems according to preflight presets.

InPreflight also includes a powerful packaging automation engine which allows users to preflight and package multiple documents. Among other abilities, it can collect all files into one folder, eliminating the need to collect the same links multiple times for each design. This is especially useful when collecting multiple InDesign files that share the same linked images. The savings can result in gigabytes of saved space and hours of production time.

The update provides the ability to report the color mode of Illustrator CS4 EPS files, which isn’t available in InDesign. With InPreflight, users can instantly check the color mode of vector EPS files without the need to open each file manually. InPreflight is available for Mac OS X 10.4.2 and higher, a Universal Binary, and works with Adobe InDesign CS-CS4.

Pricing and Availability:

Incline Village, Nevada – Xeric Design, Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of EarthDesk 4.7, its award-winning, real-time dynamic desktop map, for Macintosh OS X. EarthDesk 4.7 gives the user control over the map cache process, resulting in faster startup times.

EarthDesk replaces your static desktop with an image of the Earth showing current sun, moon and city illumination, as well as real-time global cloud coverage, allowing you to track hurricanes and other weather systems on your Macintosh or Windows desktop.

Pricing and Availability:
EarthDesk requires Mac OS X 10.4 or newer. Single user copies may be purchased online for $24.95 (USD). Upgrades from version 2.x or 3.x are available for $11.95 (USD).
FotoInsight today announces FotoInsight Designer 4.5 for Mac OS X. Version 4.5 offers new photo book formats and new features like fading frames and festive templates.

Cambridge, UK – Against an ever increasing number of photo book services, FotoInsight is increasing its technological lead with the introduction of version 4.5 of FotoInsight Designer, which today is launched for Linux and Mac. The ease at which photos can freely be inserted into the book or into templates now also extends to clipart, maps, text and images from photo sharing sites like Flickr as well as the geotagging site “locr” and Wikipedia GeoNames. The photo sharing sites become an online interface for photo book building with family and friends, as users can now complement their printed photo albums with additional pictures (e.g. the Eiffel Tower form a different angle) from photo sharing sites, straight from within the FotoInsight Designer software.

Geotagging and Photosharing

In addition, with just a mouse click pictures used in a photo calendar or photo book project in FotoInsight Designer 4.5 can be uploaded to the geotagging photo community “locr”. The other way around, aerial shots and maps from the geotagging community will come handy for comprehensive information of the locality in a personal travel book. “locr GmbH’s” Managing Director Malte Schloen states: “The collaboration between the FotoInsight Photo Book service and locr as a geotagging and information sharing site combines two innovative leaders to the benefit of users. Geotagging communities like ‘locr’ free internet users from Ordnance Survey’s outdated geographic information monopoly.” FotoInsight’s Managing Director Klaas Brumann adds: “We are so excited that our software tool for photo book design now integrates a gateway into shared photos and geographic information and online photo sharing, that we are already working on extending the range of photo sharing sites to also include Facebook and Picasa in the following release later this year.”

Travel Diaries

For geotagged images the new software can load corresponding local information straight from “locr” or Wikipedia into the photo book. Creating area maps takes just a click. FotoInsight’s Head of Communication Catalina Martínez states: “It has never been easier to write comprehensive travel diaries or even your own travel guide.” Using geotagging applications for photos or tagging the location information manually opens a new world of opportunity to relate images with locality information.

Mac OS and Linux, too

Compatible with Windows XP, Linux and Mac operating system 10.5 Leopard and above, version 4.5 of the FotoInsight Designer software is now available to download from the FotoInsight website. The software upgrade sees greater functionality for editing, sorting and arranging photos, as well as for creating personalised photo gifts that preserve photographic memories.

Image Layering and Blend-in Image Masks

According to FotoInsight “layering images in any order or position has been one of the outstanding features of its Designer software for photo books”. With the new software upgrade a range of different shapes or blend-in image masks can be used as image frames. There are also plenty of new frames and clipart to decorate photo gifts for Mothering Sunday, Easter, Father’s Day etc.

New Panorama Format

After extending its range with the Photo Book XXL with editable hardcover in portrait format (H36 x 28 cm) and in faux leather with traditional screw bind in panoramic format (H30 x W42 cm) last year, FotoInsight is now adding an A4 panorama size (H28 x W21 cm). FotoInsight’s print resolution of 360 dpi produces crisp panorama images spreading across double pages up to 84 cm wide.

In Time for the Easter holidays

The Easter holiday photographs are a great opportunity to try the new FotoInsight Designer features, printing photographic memories. Therefore FotoInsight offers 10% off all photo canvas print (voucher CNV1) and a square photo book (21 x 21 cm) for £10 (saving £4.99; voucher code PBSS1C, expires 30 April 2009).

Wellington, New Zealand – Flying Mac has announced the release of FarFinder for iPhone, the native iPhone client for their Macintosh remote access product. FarFinder lets iPhone users browse, view and download their Mac’s files from anywhere. FarFinder also provides access to a Mac’s files from any web browser on any platform – OS X, Windows or Linux.

Features:
FarFinder for iPhone gives users secure access to any Mac running FarFinder’s Mac software. Users have access to the Mac’s complete file system, including connected network drives such as Apple’s Time Capsule.

Users can view all documents the iPhone supports, including iWork files, Microsoft Office documents and PDFs, with additional support for RTF, RTFD and web archives. A slideshow function provides easy image viewing, and can display image files such as Photoshop which the iPhone would not normally handle. The iPhone can stream music and even video from the Mac if bandwidth allows.

FarFinder provides a Mac-like experience, with Finder-style icon and list views, custom file icons (where not forbidden by Apple) and quick access to Finder sidebar items. Spotlight is also available, allowing the user to easily search the whole Mac. Advanced features include displaying hidden files, showing file extensions and opening packages.

Files and whole folders can be downloaded to the iPhone for times when there is no network available, and for easy access to frequently-used documents and large media files.

Additional features include sending files and folders by email without needing to download them first, and the ability to look through the remote Mac’s iSight camera. This latter feature is particularly popular with users.

FarFinder for iPhone replaces FarFinder’s Mobile Safari interface, which gave iPhone users access to a subset of the features described above. The native application delivers not only additional features, but also a huge performance and usability increase.

Security:
FarFinder maintains excellent security, using an encrypted connection to transfer all data (with the exception of high-demand media files). Users must enter the user name and password of a valid Mac account to connect, and these login details can optionally be remembered using the iPhone’s secure keychain. Once logged in, the user is restricted to files their account would normally be allowed to view.

Competing products:
Applications such as Air Sharing and Briefcase allow users to store files on the iPhone. FarFinder does this too, but also provides access to the whole computer at any time. This means it is not necessary to copy files to the phone before leaving the Mac, eliminating the risk of forgotten files and providing for unforeseen requirements.

Searchlight provides remote Mac access, however it is Spotlight-only and doesn’t allow file system navigation. ReachMyFile is probably FarFinder’s closest competitor, but FarFinder has the advantage of its browser interface, providing big-screen access and file uploads when a Mac or PC is nearby.

Long delays in the App Store:
FarFinder’s release comes after a delay of over three months waiting for App Store approval. The main causes of the delays were Apple’s slow response times and their drip-feeding of required changes. The Flying Mac blog contains specific details and opinion on this developer’s App Store experience.

Pricing and Availability:
The FarFinder iPhone application is a free download. Target computers must be running the FarFinder Mac software; this costs $35 (USD) for an individual licence and $65 (USD) for a family pack. FarFinder comes with a 20 day, fully functional free trial period.

The FCPUG Network "SuperBooth", part of NABShow 2009, will offer a full 4 day schedule of free immersive sessions with Final Cut Studio, Adobe and digital filmmaking Gurus who will answer questions, demo user-driven production and postproduction workflows, and screen content created with Final Cut Studio and other Macintosh based software. The SuperBooth will serve as an extension of the the Eighth Annual NAB FCPUG SuperMeet, to take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Rio Hotel.

Los Angeles, CA / Boston, MA – The FCPUG Network, who produce the wildly popular SuperMeets along side trade shows such as Macworld, IBC and NAB, have announced that they will have a booth on the show floor at the NAB SHOW in Las Vegas this April 20-24, 2009. The producers have stated that the booth will serve as an extension of the the Eighth Annual NAB FCPUG SuperMeet, to be held in the Amazon Ballroom at the Rio Hotel and Casino Las Vegas on Tuesday night, April 21st. Appropriately they are calling it, the “SuperBooth” (#SL10129).

“We have always wanted space on the NAB show floor, but could never find the resources or money to afford it,” said Michael Horton, founder of the LA Final Cut Pro User Group and co-producer of the SuperMeets. “But this year we have gotten tremendous support from the community who are donating their time and expertise to make this booth happen. Our plan is to make the SuperBooth a social gathering spot for all Final Cut Studio users and Digital moviemakers who find themselves in need of learning and connecting.”

“With Apple not on the show floor this year it is our hope that the SuperBooth will fill part of the void,” added Daniel Berube, founder of the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group and co-producer of the SuperMeets. “We will have something different going on every hour for all four days of the NAB SHOW. There will be daily “Guru Hour” where you can get all your Final Cut Studio problems solved by some of the top FCS experts in the world. Sit or stand awhile to view presentations of workflow ideas, show and tells, new products, and much much more. We are just getting started on what to do with this booth. We are very excited.”

The SuperBooth, (#SL10129) will be located near the Blackmagic Design booth in the lower-lower South Hall. Agenda for the SuperBooth is expected to be posted on the SuperMeet web page on April 1, 2009. The Eighth Annual FCPUG SuperMeet is looking to be another sell out according to the producers.

“Despite the economy ticket sales are tracking about the same as they did last year and last year was the largest attendance we have ever had at any SuperMeet,” stated Michael Horton. “Historically every SuperMeet has always sold out.”

Added Berube, “Creative people need these types of events, not only for the networking opportunities which are vitally important during these times, but to add to their skill by taking advantage of events such as the SuperMeet and now the SuperBooth.”

The SuperMeet will feature user driven presentations from Blackmagic Design, JVC, Adobe and many others. There will be presentations on revolutionary new Final Cut Studio workflow ideas, show and tells, tips and tricks and a Raffle where tens of thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be handed out to dozens of lucky winners. Final agenda for SuperMeet is expected to be posted in early April.

Tickets are on sale now online only for $10.99 (USD) each. Daily updates as well as a link to purchase tickets can be found on the SuperMeet web page.

SuperMeet web page

SuperMeets are gatherings of Final Cut Pro editors, gurus and Mac-based digital filmmakers from throughout the world who use or want to learn to use Apple’s Final Cut Studio suite of applications, most importantly Final Cut Pro. SuperMeets are held annually along side large trade shows such as Macworld in San Francisco, NAB in Las Vegas, IBC in Amsterdam and in 2009 as a stand alone event in London. The agenda usually includes appearances by Apple, demos of new products, digital video tips and tricks, and filmmaker show and tells. In addition there are over two dozen vendors showing off their wares as part of what the organizers call the FCP Trade Show. The Final Cut Pro User Group Network is a worldwide community of Final Cut Pro and Digital Video User Groups officially recognized by Apple. The FCPUG Network’s mission is to build connections between Final Cut Pro users, filmmakers and professionals who wish to lead the digital filmmaking revolution. The FCPUG Network provides both advocacy and education about Digital Video on the Macintosh and membership opportunities for learning and growth in Digital Storytelling.

Vancouver, BC – PhotographyTips has released its first guide for posing female models for iPhone users, entitled “Poses Volume 1: The First Female Collection.”

“This product will be welcomed and embraced by photographers who use iPhones or the iPod touch, and who have a need to attractively pose female subjects,” said Dan McCormick of PhotographyTips.

Poses Volume 1 contains 368 individual color images of attractive, popular poses that any model can quickly and easily adopt. The application has a unique ‘Fit Pose’ feature that assists in getting the subject’s pose to closely match any professionally-posed example from the application. The guide’s eight models, wearing plain dance costumes, were photographed against a clean white backdrop, making it easy to see every aspect of every pose. Pose examples are organized by type (seated, standing, kneeling, etc.), simplifying the search for the “right” pose.

“This practical guide will solve any photographer’s posing problems once and for all,” said McCormick, “whether photographing a girlfriend at the beach who may never have posed before or a professional model in the studio. It’s easy to use, and a superb posing resource that photographers and models will call upon over and over again for years to come.”

“Poses Volume 1: The First Female Collection” is a product of PhotographyTips, the Internet’s #1 guide to better photography. It is the first in a series of three collections, which comprise in total 1,104 individual posed images. Volumes 2 and 3 are in the approval stages and will be released soon.

Pricing and availability:
Poses Volume 1 is available now for $9.99 in the iPhone App Store from the developer, Trollwerks Inc.
