First Look: Apple OS X Leopard

Fresh off the presses, here’s a first look at some of the cool new features in OS X Leopard!
As you’ll find all over the web at this point, there are some great new features in Apple Mac OS X Leopard, which is scheduled for release in early 2007.

Feel free to discuss these images, ask questions or make requests for other screenshots or usability items.

We’re sad to say that we’ve received written requests from Apple to remove the screenshots. As we are essentially a one-man show and our ad revenues do not even come CLOSE to hiring a lawyer, we have no choice but to comply. There may or may not be mirrors of these images floating around the net…good luck, and thanks for your understanding…

Im glad to see that you can backup automatically under the Time Machine system prefs. I saw on the website that the backup would happen at midnight every night, and that totally turned me off of Time Machine, but seeing that is much better.

No doubt someone will be getting a cease and desist letter from Apple’s Legal Depertment in the next few hours…

The NDA specifically states no publishing of any information relating to pre-released works including but not limited to specifications, functionality and screenshots.

Could you take some some screenshots of the installation or at least some notes on what is new?

    Adrian,
Hopefully this won’t be the case, since there are screenshots and movies of the same features on Apple.com. I think this will be ok, but of course I’ll be happy to work with Apple if there were to be an issue.

Walther, really? I thought it was much better than new windows and back/forth navigation.

Great to see these pictures, thanks a lot!

You know, always when there is a new major OS X version announced, I’m torn between feeling ripped of, seeing how Apple wants to charge me 130 bucks for these minor features, and pure geeky excitement for the shinyness. Yeah…

Btw, I really like your image preview feature. It’s much better than pop-ups.

P.S.: What’s up with the lilac Help menu???

The annotate function in preview isn’t new, and neither is the Address Book LDAP functionality or anything in the Activity Monitor that I can see. Rest of it’s pretty interesting. I’d like to see some shots of the new dev tools too, along with any other new stuff found.
