Then you need to head over to McDev.com and download ‘AUPC’, which stands for ‘Automatic Updates Prompt Control’. This handy dandy little app will disable the prompts without forcing you to reboot.
Sure, this can all be done by starting/stopping Services or editing Group Policy or editing the Registry, but when was the last time you walked someone through that? Remember the part where you wanted to stab them in the eye with their keyboard? Right. Much easier to have them point/click and be done with it.
