Cover Stream 1.4; put iTunes cover flow on your desktop

February 18th, 2008 · No Comments

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stockholm, Sweden - February 18, 2008 - Snarb.tk today announced the immediate availability of Cover Stream 1.4, a substantial update to its popular iTunes controller that extends iTunes Cover Flow to the desktop, giving users a quick and easy way to visually browse through their entire album collection - without switching applications.

A great looking, light-weight frontend to iTunes, Cover Stream blows away the text-list-heavy interface of iTunes 7 and lets you flick through your albums faster, smoother and more easily than in iTunes itself.

As a bonus, Cover Stream adds Flip-Browsing, a fast and convenient way to pick a track from the selected album in an iPhone-like fashion. Simply flip the album over to reveal its tracks on the back of the cover. Cover Stream also gives you access to your iTunes playlists, just as easily.

With global, fully customizable keyboard shortcuts, Cover Stream gives you complete control over iTunes from any application. You can play, pause, skip, rate, adjust sound volume, hide or show iTunes, and much more, without interrupting your workflow.

Song details and artwork is displayed in a small, floating bezel window whenever you need it. In addition, the dock icon can be set to reflect the album artwork of the song you are currently listening to. Cover Stream also has a status bar item that gives you access to all of its settings and functionality from any application. It also supports track change notifications through Growl.

With the new caching capabilities of Cover Stream 1.4, album artwork is retrieved immediately at startup, without the need to first sync with iTunes. Artworks can be sorted by album or artist at runtime, and grouped compilations are fully supported. The new version also adds an improved status bar menu, with track info and jewelcase artwork, a sound volume slider, a rating menu, and more. The update also fixes a number of bugs in earlier versions, and is recommended for all users.

System requirements:
Cover Stream requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later

Pricing and Availability:
Cover Stream is available through Snarb.tk’s web site at a price of $14.95 (US). Upgrades are, and will always be, free of charge. A fully functional demo is available for download. Please see www.snarb.tk for more details.
